Burping Poetry

My 8-year-old daughter has taken to writing poetry. Here's one she's particularly proud of:

The Burp

What a beautiful sound, a burp
It comes out of your mouth with a quaint little "Urp!"

The sound slides so smoothly off of your tongue,
With the breath flying away from its now empty lung.

"For the joy of it," I would declare when I blew,
Everyone would agree with a loud, "Yessiroo!"

And walking away I knew they were still glad,
I could hear them a-laughing at the joke they just had.

That divine sound still rings in my head
Even when I go to bed.

I lick my lips in delight
And keep burping through the night.

She's got a gift! I'm sure you're already doing this, but encourage her to keep writing! I can think of no other skill that could serve her so well in so many areas of life.

Love it!

Depending on her output, you could gather her gems and publish them as a gift for others!

My daughter's poem would be:

What a beautiful sound, a burp
It comes out of your mouth with a
Gregarious "Braaaaap."

Delicate flower my daughter is not.

HAHAHAHA, That's great! She's really talented, and not just for an 8 year old. Very nice. My boys can barely put together a sentence let alone one that makes any sense :-)
