Feast of the Bald Eagles
It was a beautifully sunny day, so we took a long walk along the lake shore, out to Higgens Point to watch the bald eagles feasting on the kokanee salmon that are dying after spawning. Never mind the temperature of 28 degrees. It felt plenty warm to us.

beautiful! i used to live in the NW and would get out to your neck of the woods every now and then. seeing those pics took me back. glad for you and your great day.
Happy New Year!
Seriously cool!
We've got a pair of Bald Eagles that live less than 2 miles down the road from us. I literally have to catch my breath every time I see them.
Our eagles are only in the area for a few months each winter while they gobble up the fish. Then they continue south to Utah, Arizona, Oregon and California. Every year we head out there to gawk at them and it's always a thrill.
1. Oooohhh
2. Ohhhhhh
3. ARGHHHHHHHHRGHRGHHHHHHHH!
We drove out last weekend and viewed the eagles too. Just amazing to watch them glde across the water and then snag a fish.
But Phil -- How about those University of Idaho Vandals!!! Great Bowl win!! Great game!!
Wow, what an absolutely beautiful and serene place you must live in. I couldn't even imagine walking there never mind living there.
Good story Phil. I go each day because I can and they are so close. We also have two that have been seen each morning on Tubbs Hill. They have pretty much left, only a couple remain, but it was a great season to watch them.
