Take A Hike
"Hey, I can see Grandma's house from here!"
Have you taken a hike lately? That's one of the things about spring and summer that I look forward to the most. Hitting a trail with the kids and seeing what's around the bend or up on top of the mountain.
Here we are taking in the view from a trail on Kamiak Butte, overlooking the Palouse farm country of Idaho and Washington. Far off in the distance is the college town of Moscow, Idaho. And I really do think we can see Grandma's house from there.

I used to love hiking as a uni student..it has been decades since I did that. maybe one day I'll get the kids to join me!
We live at the bottom of Lookout Mountain (where the Battle in the Clouds took place) and my husband loves to hike around there. He takes our four year old often. A few weeks ago we went camping for the first time as a family. We were going to hike to Cloudland Canyon, but there was too much rain. In August we will be going on a hike/ camping trip. And we are in the planning stages of an Amtrak trip to Glacier National Park to hike/ camp there next summer.
Great view. I love to hike and can't wait until I can take my son on more than just neighborhood walks.
Hiking season gets a bit tough in the summer, unless we drive up into the mountains.

we haven't hit our favorite trails yet, but i'm sensing it will be soon.
our favorite hike ends with a nice wide creek where we can rest our footies in the cool water.
