The Blahs
You ever get the blahs?
It's not the blues, which is a depressed state of mind.
No, the blahs are a state of almost complete lethargy. I say almost, because I'm still keeping up with the basic needs and responsibilities of being a homeschooling stay-at-home dad.
But, boy, do I feel sluggish.
It all started last weekend when I was the last one in the family to catch a minor cold. No big deal, just the sniffles and a cough.
However, my first day with it literally knocked me out. I remember folding laundry around 3pm on Friday, then finding myself waking up at 11am Saturday morning with no idea how that happened.
Since then, I've just had the blahs. This listless, apathetic feeling is one of the more unpleasant experiences I've ever had. I think I'd really rather be throwing up or coughing my lungs out. THAT I can deal with.
Thank goodness my wife was off work this week. She picked up some of the slack with teaching and shopping.
Honestly, I just hate shuffling around the house with little to no energy as stuff pile up around me. I'm used to going from early morning until after midnight and keeping up with the household chores and projects.
I'm going to take a blog break while I figure out how to shake the cobwebs from my brain. If you have any advice for me, I'd love to hear it.

Take a blog break! :-)
Hope you recover quickly!
It's a biological clock thing. When I've lived in the north, the same thing hits me every February.
Makes sense: before cities and Safeway, food would run low in February and since winter often is at its worse, hibernation kicks in.
Yeah, I got hit this weekend as well. Sunday morning I stayed home from church and slept in. Had Monday off, and slept in and didn't do much of anything. Yesterday I was feeling a little headachey and so I stayed home from work. Just a little off. Felt better when I woke up today. I guess my only advice is...this too shall pass.
The whole family has been hit with one thing or another for the past month. I'd rather have the blahs than the pukes (which I currently have).
Take an hour outside. Even in 10' snow -- the fresh air, change of scenery, and moving outside the confines of the home help lift my energy. That, and a good cup of joe in the afternoon.
Spring Cleaning usually kick starts me into feeling better after a winter up here in the NW. Purging.
Maybe go away for a weekend. I hope you feel better soon
I think you need a getaway. Working moms need that once in a while..so do dads..especially when you work almost 24 hours a day.
I usually feel that "blah" way at least once each winter.
Taking a break from blogging can be a good thing. We'll be here when you get back.
Hey I know, come on and visit. It's in the 70s and the sun is shining strong.
I just blogged about this very thing! I am seriously looking at the indoor water park in Silver Valley...for a night is $180 for 4 but heck it is cheaper than the looney bin :)
I googled February Homeschool Blues we aren't alone!

I've been having some blahs for a few months now.
If you find a cure please pass it on.
hope you are feeling better and more cheerful.
Pop over to Twaddle and you might win a box of British Scrummies :)

It was impressed upon me that this is what I ve done in the past concerning God's Word, in my life and in my homeschool.
I get the blahs as well and as far as I know there is no cure for me. I think it is related to allergies but hard to say. Allergy medicine seems to help some, but not enough. There are days and weeks I could sit and do nothing. All the best.
