Inauguration Day

We're doing our school lessons with the TV on today.
A Presidential Inauguration is a special event, but this one is a little different. I want my kids to see and remember this truly historic day.
There's something in the air. Call it hope, call it optimism, call it whatever you want, but I have this good feeling that my children will not have to suffer through the same cynicism and mistrust for politicians that I have developed over a lifetime of Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush (both of them).
Maybe, for the first time in a very long time, this country has a leader who won't lie, cheat, or kill people.
Or maybe he's just the same as the old boss. Who knows? For today, though, the future looks a little brighter.

We're hoping BIG HOPE too!
Same here in Oz, we all wish him well! I looks like a very good and strong leader!
Right on Phil. This is a magical day. I have tears in my eyes as I watch this country move forward.
the principal called and asked...did you do anything today besides watch the President...um nope and it was great!
Like Spring Cleaning for the soul.
We kept the kids home to watch it only to find out that they had watched it at school.
I'm happy that my kids' first memory of politics will be this moment.
my girl's watched at school too, though they've been following the whole campaign with me.
writing this a few days after and have to say it's nice to say I like what i'm hearing on cnn again.
maybe i won't cancel my tv just yet.
