Harvest Festival
Our garden didn't provide much bounty this year, but it did manage to give us a few handfuls of green beans, a dozen onions, and one lopsided 50-pound pumpkin, which will be carved up for Halloween next week. And hopefully we can get a pumpkin pie or two out of it.
Next year, we plant things that give a little more bang for the buck.
What have you had good luck with in your garden?

I all but abandoned our garden this year. No time, no time.
Our garden is just starting to come in since Arizona's growing season is reversed. I am a strong believer in starting with string beans: they're easy, fast growing, highly prolific and self-fertilizer.
Our cucumbers and squash are already flowering. The tomato and pepper plants are a few inches tall, but growing slowly. They probably won't really kick in for months.
Cilantro and basil are doing great. Spinach and lettuce have had bug problems. (I refuse to use spray.)
the only thing that seems to grow for us is tomatoes. So this year we planted a garden full of sugar snack tomatoes to snack on. (no pun intended)
Wow. That's huge!
I can't even keep the cactus plants alive, but I have managed to grow tomatoes!
It looks like you are carrying a barrel of beer lol...
Nope to me veggie garden this year... knee put me out of so much and still does as yet....
*wondering if a little parcel arrived for your nippers?*

we had our garden for the first time this year. We planted tomatoes and zucchinis. We had really good results with both. We had threee different types of tomatoes and were begging friends and family to take as many tomatoes as they wanted!!! But, FYI, you'll need stakes to support the tomato plants.
I forgot to say that my son took this photo of me!
The only thing I grew was a kid. Great Photo.
Wow, how did you get it that big, did it grew from seeds. BTW, great pic.
Big plans...for next year. It's all part of my son's plan to make us a self sustaining family unit. (My words his idea)

Yup, that's from a seed. We just watered it regularly, maybe five minutes a day with the sprinkler. Plus, we had a very wet spring. I'm not sure why exactly it grew that big while most of our other plants didn't.
I can't wait to live someplace where I can have a garden that isn't just rocks and tumbleweeds.
It was a crazy, crazy growing year, but we did decent considering the lack of attention the garden got this year (I went and had a June baby, won't do that again). Grand plans for next year though, that's for sure. :)
