Treasure Giveaway

My son loves the history-adventure storytelling of the National Treasure movies. To him, the character of Benjamin Gates is second only to Indiana Jones in film. He understands that the movies are pure fiction, but the twists and thrills of the plots still elicit a bit of wide-eyed wonder. Even in me!

I have shiny new DVD copies of both National Treasure and National Treasure 2 to give away this week.

All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what fun things you're going to do with your family over the last few weeks of summer. Yikes, did I say "last few weeks of summer"? Yup, there are only three weeks left before the new school year starts.

I'll pick a winner on Monday.

UPDATE: The winner is... James Austin! Thanks for your comments. Enjoy the rest of summer!

We homeschool, and I'm no fan of the sticky heat or crowds, so for us the glorious month is actually SEPTEMBER. We take our annual vacation the week AFTER Labor Day, which this year will include time at the cabin by the lake and visiting at least two zoos. Aah! I can't wait. :)

We're headed to the Iowa State Fair, and hopefully The City Museum at some point.

Did someone say 'butter cow'?

Hah, summer ends on Monday for us, because school starts earlier here.

We spent the entire time moving. We started before school let out and we won't finish for a few more weeks.

Most fun thing: Swim lessons.

I'll be doing quite a bit of traveling. Heading to a family wedding with my dad this weekend and then traveling to Texas with my sister at the end of the month.

Since this is going to be our first year homeschooling (I may need some advice)and we start in less than two weeks, we are going to be getting our classroom ready. We will make our annual trip to Silverwood and go to the county fair, too.

Picking Huckleberries of course for the next three weeks. Hopefully every day, as our thirst for them is insatiable. I hope you have been pickin' with the family and have been having a good time doing so. As for the movies, please leave me out as I've seen them both and that's enough for me. Thanks. The Stickman

We will be hustling to get the kids ready to go back to college; and since we homeschool the other three kids, we'll be purchasing books and lab sets etc. etc. etc. Vacation-wise, we'll be visiting a cabin to marvel at God's nature.

We've been going camping as our only real summer activity. My kids aren't in school yet, so summer is pretty much like fall, spring.. not like winter, winter has SNOW. But two weekends ago we camped at Sylvan Lake, which happens to be the lake in National Treasure 2- the one the city of gold is located under. We tried to find the spot where we stick our hand in the eagle, but no dice. We were hoping maybe to find a little overlooked gold down there.

The family that was going to come up cancelled their trip so anything planned is now gone So I could really use the movies to fill in the time.
