Deep Purple
When you're picking huckleberries in the wild woods of North Idaho, your fingers will quickly become stained purple.
I am assuming you found the right spot Phil. Kim and I just got back from our first time and they are definitely ready. If you went to where I told you, there is more than enough for this whole town. I'll bet you and the family had a good time. If you start to venture up that first trail off the main one aways you will be pleasantly surprised. We spent a couple of hours and picked plenty. Maybe go back at least three times a week for the next month. Let me know how you did and where you went. The Stickman
We've never seen so many huckleberries. My son said, "This must be huckleberry heaven!"
We've been up twice, and I'm not sure where exactly we were on that trail. We walked up the hill about 20 yards, but then branched off into the thick bushes and found several spots where we could just sit and pick. There were so many, it was overwhelming.
I walked up even further another 50 yards or so just to see what was up near the top.
Almost as good as the berries is the beauty and peace up there in the mountains.
When I saw on Huckleberries that you had a post about 'Deep Purple', I got all excited thinking you were talking about the band that did "Smoke On The Water". It's not that I have a one-track mind. I'm definitely 'stereo'; a two-track mind.
My brother owned a Deep Purple album. Don't remember which one, but when I inherited his albums I could never quite get into the group. His Beatles albums, though, were another story!
Phil: I'm glad it worked out. There is plenty right near the entrance of the trail, but like I said, go up the trail to the first trail that branches off to the left and wander up it for as long as you care to walk, they will be everywhere. If you explore a little as Kim and I do, you will find spots beyong your wildest dreams. With kids, near the road is fine. I'm glad you found Huckleberry Heaven, not many places quite like that. Now you will always know where to go, it has been a great spot for us for at least 15 years now. The Stickman
Phil: The pickin' seems to get better and better. We went last night and stayed till dark. Up the trail about 100 yards to the first 'Y' and then to the left about 5 or 10 minutes and you will be in extreme Huckleberry Heaven. We will probably go back every evening till they are all gone. Yeah right! Enjoy. The Stickman

Send me some! Oh wait, I suppose they won't survive.
I suppose they won't survive.
Between me eating and sitting on them, you're right!
Sure you were sitting on them. I'm going to say you were eating them and then needed to do a little scratchin back there. Nice try though ;b

Thanks again.

Come to think of it, there may be some truth to this. At least it explains my purple nostrils. :)

Suddenly they don't look so appetizing.
