Speak With Conviction
I saw this at the Why Homeschool blog and just had to post it myself. Taylor Mali's description of today's youth as "aggressively inarticulate" is brilliant.
Thanks for posting that! It is sadly true that speaking well is looked down on these days. I really enjoy reading your blog, especially about your school day with your kids. My husband and I have worked in public education for years, and while we strongly believe in it as an important factor in leveling the playing field of society and giving all kids the opportunities to make better lives for themselves and all that happy doo-doo, it breaks my heart every day to see what is happening to our schools and how we are breaking our promises to the kids. As I read your blog, I keep thinking to myself...if only everyone was this dedicated to education. Your kids are really lucky, and I'm really lucky to be be able to read your blog!! Thanks for sharing!
