Lost
My son has been lost for a week now.
Last Friday he started reading the first Harry Potter book. Sunday he began the second volume. Tuesday he started reading the second one again!
Yesterday he opened up the third book and finished it this afternoon.
He's lost in some fantasy world that I'm clueless about, because I'm only on page 26 of the first book after a week.
I wish I could just sit and read all day.

They have so much more time to read then us don't they. As I record all the books Rhiannon read this summer I wonder - where did she find the time? Her nose is often in a book- but wow they can read so much more than us. I miss those days!
Welcome to the Potter Wizarding World! I took 2 weeks to finish the last book..pheww..feel so relieved it's finally over.
I wish I could sit and just read for ten minutes, let alone all day...I keep telling myself, some day, some day...Glad you're both enjoying the books!
My 12 year old also looses himself in the books. Once he has started, he just cannot seem to put them down. Has anyone considered having the FDA or perhaps the Surgeon General check into these books? I know they are not food or drugs, but they sure seem to have an addictive quality.
I grew up in the Star Wars era. I can name all kinds of odd characters, planets, vehicles, etc.
When my 12 and 10 year old get together and talk Harry Potter - I am completely lost! It's a whole separate world (Like I imagine Star Wars was for my parents).
We have one of those Harry Potter "Scene it" games (DVD Trivia - clips from the movies, etc), and even though I have seen all but the most recent movie, my children make me look like the village idiot when we play together. I can still kick their behinds in Chess, Monopoly, and Risk - but when they want to serve up a heaping helping of "revenge", they crack out the Harry Potter "Scene it" game for a guaranteed victory over their dear ol' dad!
As far as reading them myself.. I'm with Kristen when she says she wishes she could sit for ten minutes and read.... I have my own unfinished "Reading List"
See it here.
I should be reading the Harry Potter books along with my kids...
(looking back and forth over my shoulders to see if any of kids area nearby)
Are there Cliff's Notes for the series??
Hey, I presented you an award..check it out!
The Harry books are so easy to get lost in. :) Sounds like he must be enjoying them. After finishing HP7, I started reading book 1. I am reading the whole series in order now. I want to see if I notice different things or if I understand more in the other books now that I've read the 5th book.
I think it's going to take me a while to get through them all though. I mostly just read on my lunch break at work and a little on the weekends when I can.
