A Familiar Family

Strangers have been picking up my wife and kids at local hotels.

Really!

We were visiting relatives at a hotel here in town and I picked up a bunch of brochures advertising things to do and see in North Idaho.

I looked down at the one for Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, and noticed that the lovely little family picking huckleberries under the gondola looked very familiar!

This is what happens when you put your photos on Flickr.

that's a bit cheeky. Your flicker account clearly states it's all rights reserved too. It's not even like you put them under creative commons.

Obviously it must be a little flattering too, but still.

Are yo going to ask them for any money? I would

Wow, they can't do that without permission.

Though if you granted it, then cool!

Thread them with legal action (even if you might not mean it) it's very unfair and wrong of them to do this, I would be annoyed! How do you feel about it?

I kind of agree with the others; see if you can get something out of it. I'll bet they'd be willing to send a few C notes your way.

Just send them a bill for $100,000.

Awesome! And, did you send the bill yet? Apparently it should include penalties.

Creepy.

On a high note, I've given you the nod for the Blogger Reflection Award.

Have a good one.

Royalties indeed -- that's a great photo. And more than a bit weird.

That is very cheeky of them. Did they even give you credit for the photo?

Can't you do anything to them?

That would freak me out a bit too. It's hard to make out faces, but the copyright is still yours.

See... I would get a kick out of something like this. I would go ballistic on these people. Just to see their expression.

Seriously. Have fun. I would.

(be sure to mention "emotional distress" and "damages" as soon as possible in the conversation...)

What are you going to do? We prosecute copyright infringement on our photos regularly (and believe me, it happens a LOT within our business industry, which is pathetic I might add).
