Name Our Gnome

This little guy lives in our backyard. My son picked him out at the store. I asked him to think up a name for the gnome, but he suggested I make a blog contest out of it.

So, name our gnome!

The lucky winner will receive the new Paul McCartney CD, Memory Almost Full.

McCartney played in L.A. tonight for free at a record store. People were lined up since yesterday morning. I didn't think a 4 year old and 17 month old would be able to handle 24 hours standing on a sidewalk, but man, I wanted to go.

We have a gnome gnamed gnigel, so you can't have that. I suggest Harold, or Eddie, or Erik, or Ambrose, Stickwick, or maybe even Beverly (Beverly was a mans name in the 19th century...trust me.).

I found a website devoted to Gnome names (no kidding) and thought Dulin would be good. You can call him "Dulin of Idaho". I think it has a nice ring to it.

You have to watch "The Home Teachers." It's a clean family comedy done by Mormon students. Funny as heck. And then you'll understand my nominee: "Naughty, naughty gnome."

There is a radio station here that always say, when a comp is on, that if you have won anything in the last month you are not allowed to play. And I haven't won anything in the last month so I am playing with!

The name is Tevye. I looked at Mr. Gnome and thought is that a cart he is pulling and it reminded me of Fiddler on the roof! Now what better opportunity for a home school dad to include a bit or art and music in his son's education by naming the gnome Tevye!

Did I win? :-)

Definitely go with a
Scandinavian name considering that gnomes originated in Scandinavia! I have thirteen gnomes so I would know.
Gustav
Gerard
Hugo
Ludvic
Pavel (means small in Scandinavian!)
Waldo (Not Scandinavian but super cool!)
