The Hygiene Thing
This can be filed under Conversations I Don't Want To Have Anymore ...
Me, to daughter: "Did you just go poop?"
Daughter: "Uh-huh."
Me: "Did you wipe really good?"
Daughter: "Uh-huh."
Me: "Then why do you smell like poop?"
Daughter: "I don't know."
Ugh... She's almost six. Time for her to master the hygiene thing. Please! I've never used so much bleach and Febreze in my life.

Yesterday was the first time that my two year old actually put his hand in his dirty diaper. And then he announced, EWWWW.
Good luck with that hygiene thing.

put wet ones or baby wipes in her bathroom. she'll love to and will use those....
it's a girl thing.
We've got wet wipes in each bathroom. So now the toilets get clogged AND she still smells like poop.
We've got the wet wipes in the bathroom too. And they don't help here either.
I was afraid that Clare was the only who did a half-a$$ job of...well, you know. I'm hoping that her hygiene will improve sometime this year too.
I can't wait for the day when Boo no longer screams from the bathroom, "Come wipe me!"
wow. now this blows me away. She/they don't respond to baby wipes. with lanolin. you get the lanolin kind, right?
well. then. behavior mod. simplest form. use the sniff test? if you can smell her, she doesn't get the reward.
damn!
Yes, it's a sad fact. Getting them to go in the potty is only half the battle. And the other half involves a lot of uncomfortable conversations and demonstrations.
We also keep flushable wipes accessible in our bathroom, and that seems to help them do a more thorough job. We have a one wipe per flush rule--the toilet seems to balk at too many.
