Running Up That Hill

My daughter went sledding on the big hills for the first time last week. She learned one important thing... What goes down, must come up!

She said, "I had fun, but my legs are so tired." I think she wanted me to carry her each time.

That uphill climb has got to be the worst...but the thrill of going down hill makes it all worth it...doesn't it?

Oh yeah the burn baby.... the burrrrrnnnn...

There was a place we used to go as a kid and you climbed for about 30 minutes. When we got older we used to stop half way up and smoke a cigar before going the rest of the way up.

Then the long ride down seemed like only 2 minutes but man was it worth it.

I've spoiled my daughter; we take our 4 wheel drive Mule out to the hill and drive her up to the top. Granted, it's a HUGE hill. I wouldn't even want to climb it!

We still need one thing: snow.

Seltice Elementary in Post Falls has an awesome sledding hill behind the gym. It's like a giant football field-sized bowl with a gradual hill and plenty of room so kids aren't crashing into one another. Short climb, too.

She looks like she is in front of a white screen...oh to see snow like that! Amazing.

sounds like a blast. we have no decent hills around here. the police would probably bust kids for having fun sledding anywhere that was interesting in my part of the globe.
