Mystery Solved!

There's been a mystery in my house for the past month.

My son has been using a strange exclamation.

"Yeesh!"

Not exactly your typical 8-year-old utterance. I couldn't figure out where he heard it. He didn't know either. Nobody around here says "Yeesh!"

But then, yesterday, the mystery was solved. We popped in a Looney Tunes DVD, one that the kids had been watching during Christmas break.

And there was Bugs Bunny, saying "Yeesh!" over and over. Kids can learn a lot from a cartoon character.

At least we didn't have to hear my son walking around the house saying "What's up, Doc?"

My son picked up "I Kill You" a couple years ago. It was from a kid in school who learned it from his brother. The brother got it from the license plate of a motorcycle in the Sponge Bob Squarepants movie.

Sad days in my house...my twins are saying "shoot" everytime I say it...only wish I were just telling someone to start talking about their idea instead of using it when I get frustrated. UGH! Gotta start using bummer or something equally safe...

L.A. Toddler picked up Crikey from all those Steve Irwin tributes on TV a while back. She'll still throw it out every so often.

Well, better to pick it up from Bugs than some of the new Saturday morning cartoons they're coming out with.

Ah, but if he had been saying "What's up, Doc?" then there would have been no mystery as to where it came from...

Rabbit season, Duck season, Rabbit season, Duck season....

My girl has been throwing "Damnit" around here and there. She has been using it appropriately, so it is cool with me. haha.

My two and a half year old son has been pushing on his chest and saying (what we thought was) "talking man".....we finally figured out that it was "Star Command". He's a huge Buzz Lightyear enthusiast.
