Remembering 9/11

Instead of dwelling upon the sadness and horror of that day five years ago, I choose to remember the joy of having a new baby in the house. I took this picture of my daughter not long after September 11, 2001. May she grow up in a world that is safe and happy.

Aaah, she's as cute as a button.
Why does people say that, calling a baby a button? Gosh!
She's gorgeous guys! Love the hair, my Michelle was so the same, the finest hair on top, now it's just to many to handle!

My wife became pregnant with Seth about a month after 9/11.

She's too precious! I'm flying my flag today ... to honor those fallen citizens and heros. My oldest son had just started his 2nd year of Army life on 9/11. My old mother's heart nearly failed me knowing he would probably be sent somehwere to fight a war. He's re-enlisted twice since then ... and I'm very proud to be his mom.

This reminds me of the song "Sleeping Child' by Michael Learns to Rock. In the midst of the battles and the wild world, the baby sleeps and smile so calmly. We hope this cute baby and her future generation won't have to face any such tragedy anymore..

I echo your hopes. May the world be kinder to our children, and theirs.

I was very pregnant with The Boo on Sept. 11 and very hormonal. I spent most of the day crying and wondering if we were making the right choice by bringing another kid into this world. Things just didn't make sense that day. They still don't always make sense, but after The Boo arrived two weeks after the attack, I realized that I could never ever consider him a mistake.
