Go Vandals!

My son always knows when it's football season because I start singing the University of Idaho Vandal fight song... He's heard it since the day he was born: "I-D-A-H-O, Idaho, Idaho, Go Go Go!" Good way to learn spelling. When we attend games down in Moscow, Idaho, his favorite things to do include eating hot dogs and listening to the marching band play the fight song. Watching the actual game is always secondary to that other stuff.
The Vandals open the season Saturday against Michigan State. It won't be pretty, but it sure will be a lot of fun!

Ah.. things you can only get influenced by your Dad. My dad is not so much of a football fan but he influenced us to love badminton (he said it's safer!). Now my hubby is influencing my son to watch car racing and soccer!
My kids have absolutely no knowledge of sport, much to the chagrin of my wife. It's entirely my fault, since I don't ever watch sports, or play sports, or anything else related to sports. I suppose I'm letting them down in some way.
Someone gave us tickets to this Saturday night's Spokane Indians game. I'm not sure how long we'll stay because, well, I'm afraid the kids won't know what's going on, and won't we interested enough to care. But hey, free tickets, right?
GO VANDALS......
Hmmm, this weekend is a match between two former Vandal coaches too. We missed Ericsson's first time through Moscow, but we were there for all the glory of John L. Smith. Got to know him pretty well through the sporting goods store hubby and I worked at during college. Nice guy, good coach.
My boys also learned how to spell Idaho through the fight song =)
heeeey, we gave 'em a run, didn't we??
