Hello Little Bug
From six years ago, when my son was two. It seems like he has always been fascinated by bugs. Just the other night I found him asleep in bed with a book about insects folded across his chest.
It seems like young boys are born with an innate bug radar incased in their brains. My five year old will spot small bugs from the other side of the yard!
Do you have the Bug Vacuum? I found it at Target for my kids, and and they love it. It has attachments and little magnifying lens, and separate chambers for study.
I've tried to avoid that "if it moves - SQUISH IT" phase with the older boy. I've always made a point to talk about bugs when we see them - what colors they are, how many wings they have, if they will bite or attack us, etc. He understands that some bugs help us out, like spiders eating ants that get into the house - or non-social wasps that keep away their meaner social counterparts.

You've got a great entomologist in the making there with you!

It works really well for like 15 bucks.

Bugs and kids - ya gotta love em!
Bugs are great. Bug week is always a big hit with our preschoolers. As long as the bugs aren't real. They run from ants when they're outside.
