Denny's Hates Moms
Amber Deahn, one of the heroes of the Shasta Groene rescue last summer, has recently revealed that Denny's Restaurant fired her while she was on maternity leave.
More evidence of a corporate culture in this country that does not appreciate parents.

Weekend blogging for me: Hubby works and baby naps.
That's awfull! Mind you in Aust we have huge new workplace reform going on and people getting fired left right and centre, not an evening news goes by with out something regarding the above on it.
John Howard is certainly not popular!
It's sad that things like this happen.
I wish people would boycott Denny's but sad to say I doubt that would ever happen.
Let's start with my family, my son's family, my sister's family, all of my brother's families, my aunts and uncles families, my grandparents, and hopefully most of my friends. I'm going to forward this blog to most of my friends. These ladies will be heroes forever in our hearts and should be treated like queens. Forever. They really made a difference.
I think that the Denny's Corp went about it the wrong way. When the Media attention died down and the country had moved on to other issues, Denny's didn't need Amber anymore so they got rid of her. Linda the Manager who didn't want to call the police in the first place, got some money out of the deal and still has her job. I am sick of hearing that Amber was ONE of the Heros. I live in that area and the two "gentlemen" who also had a part, are drug addicts who had a chance to get some money. Linda was not going to let Amber into the office to make the phone call to 911. Linda waited longer and then made the call herself. Listen to the recordings from 911 and you will hear Linda asking Amber all of the questions that the operator asked. Linda did nothing to help other than open the door to the office and make a call. Amber was on her way out the door so that she could call from her cell phone that was in her car. I am glad that Denny's had free publicity and will have it as long as Amber's name is brought up. However they should have never fired her when she was on maternity leave, and when she was able to return to work should have given her that store to manage. Now Amber has two small children, a Husband at war in Iraq and no "love" from the Denny's Corp. Way to go Denny's don't look for me anytime soon in one of your booths!!!
