Parent Party
One morning my son sat down on the couch in the family room and spotted a bowl of leftover popcorn on the coffee table.
He looked at me and my wife accusingly, "Hey, did you eat popcorn last night?"
"Yes, son, we ate popcorn."
"Without me?"
"Yes, without you. Sometimes mommies and daddies eat popcorn after their kids are asleep."
"I think you must have a party and eat popcorn every night after I go to bed!"

Ah, "hate to miss anything" syndrome.
I think my kids think the same thing!

Heh, just be glad it wasn't ice cream leavings. My kids are convinced that I eat ice cream every night after they go to bed, now.
'With out us?'
'While we weren't here?', notice the accursing stare...
Been there, got it too. Life, must be everywhere unfair to kids.

Classic and well told. You have a nice writing style.
My son is just getting curious about what we do after he goes to bed.
My 3 yr old found the remnants of the microwave bag the next day. He asked if we ate all the popcorn. I told him that last night mommy made popcorn, and that although she gave me some, she ate all of it. He said" Yeah - I got have to talk to her bout that shen she get home".
