Hot Hot Heat

Click on the picture for a larger version

These kayakers had the right idea to get out onto the cool waters of Lake Coeur d'Alene last Sunday. You see, we've had a record-breaking heat wave the past few days. Temperatures 20 degrees above normal. Wednesday it's supposed to hit 91.

I know I shouldn't complain, what with the cold wet winter we had this year, but to jump from 60's to 90's in just a day is a real shock to the system!

The sudden warmth makes me tired at night, the very time I usually sit down to read the mom and dad blogs and to create my own compelling posts. So, short stuff on here for awhile. Until I acclimate myself or the temperatures drop.

It's been unusually clear here, too. Usually, there is more morning fog this time of year.

rain, clouds and in the 60s here. But at least the winter's over, flowers are out, trees have leaves, and the birds are tweeting away. And not too much longer and no more frost!

I hear you about the jump in temperatures. Just a few years ago, I welcomed these dramatic changes between hot and cold weather. Now it seems like my body can't take it anymore . . . drat those kids! They are taking a toll on my system! What heppened to me?!

I'm having a hard time with this heat...which is surprising to hear myself say since I'm a transplanted Texan, where Hell itself has a co-location co-op program with Texas from about May to October.

I guess I'm acclimated after only three years.

Kansas does that all the time. We just kinda go with the flow. 30's one day then the next 70.
