Liberal Baby Bust
This USA Today article is from three weeks ago, but I'm just now reading it. In it, the writer points out that progressive secularists are having far fewer children than religious conservatives, thus setting up a future where conservative values dominate American Culture.
A local conservative blogger makes the correlation here between this article and the changing landscape of our cities.
Interesting stuff. As someone who is very moderate on most issues, I'm not sure I care one way or the other where our culture is headed. The older I get, the more I ignore it.

Of course I completely understand the prevalance of birth control, but I still find it rather ironic that the culture which values freedom of 'sexual expression' is having fewer children.
Sad, too.
But who'm I to talk? I tend toward the conservative, and we're only planning to have the one child...
Looks like my wife and I need to get busy. Maybe I can convince her another child is what we need in order to save society.
This is one of those issues I've been aware of but not sure what to make of it. Progressives like to claim that the world is overpopulated and so all of us should have few if any children.
But I don't think that explains the phenomenon. I think further research is needed to fully understand it.
Interesting thought. It could very well happen, and I'm sure some group, somewhere, is going to follow this trend.
