Kids By The Lake

Remembering a warm spring day from a few years back... We've been in winter mode for about four months now and everyone in my house is looking forward to the renewal of spring. Mostly we just want to get out and about -- hiking, biking, and exploring. I have a long list of spring and summer family activities.

What are you looking forward to once the cold weather leaves us?

Not shoveling.
Not having to take an hour to get everyone dressed before we leave.
Keeping the doors and windows open.
Going to the beach, playgrounds, amusement parks with the kids.
I could go on and on forever.
God, I hate winter.

That's the beauty of living in Brisbane Australia. No snow....perfect weather 98% of the time and 26 degree winters.

Not that I want to rub it in.....but we do live in a pretty great country!

We've been having 80-degree days here in Southern California. I have to say, the weather is addictive.

Yes, camping like Stebbijo said, and planting tons of flowers!! I am looking forward to the green spring with wild flowers and the geese and ducks returning to the pond.

Bre, that photo was taken along the Centennial Trail at the first parking lot/bathroom area past the resort golf course.

Well, I have been camping once this winter; we try to hike at least once a week. When it rains we go to museums or stay home and work on projects here.

Even with all this "great weather" I still have not figured out how to ski on asphalt. You are lucky to live where it snows.
