Now this is what I'm talking about. Isn't this why we had kids? So they could do our work for us? My son is now old enough to perform the back-breaking tasks while I watch from the warm, dry house while sipping hot cocoa.
And he works for candy!
The truth is that he loves shoveling snow for about three passes up and down the driveway, then he gives up and I get to finish. But it's good training. I tell him, "If you don't do your homework, you'll be doing stuff like this for a living."
After we finished clearing the driveway this morning, it snowed another inch or two. Sometimes shoveling snow is like picking up the kids' toys -- it never ends.

He works for candy you say? I think I've got some ice cream in the freezer and I can pick up a bag of candy on the way home, I've even got a shovel for him to use. Wanna send him over about 5:00 or maybe he can go now and get it done before I get home.
for the longest time my son loved shoveling snow, and didn't know that it was a "chore". But last winter he started to catch on... So I tell him that that's what kids are for. So now he and his sister take turns with me and their mom in shoveling our sidewalk.
Watching the weather it looks like he'll have lots to do.
I am with Bre on this, Stebbijo has lots of ice cream in the freezer, and I think we could find some candy without too much trouble.
Heck... ya might even consider an ebay auction for his services.
I'll open the bidding at 2 scoops and a mounds bar... hehe
Okay, I'm a bit weird but I loved shoveling snow in the winter, and I grew up in Chicago. Even when I visit family, I happily offer to shovel snow. I don't know why I like it, I just do.
Maybe buy a second shovel and do it together?
My oldest is six and she's really a big help around the house now. And I insist on it. We don't have snow here, but she rakes leaves and stuff outside.
