The Art of Conversation

Tony, a North Idaho blogger, has a great post about teaching kids the fine art of conversation. If your children can learn this skill, they'll be far ahead of most people. I rarely meet good conversationalists. These days, it seems like most people just know how to watch TV and have forgotten how to carry on a prolonged discussion on a wide range of subjects.

Ok at the risk of sounding like a knowitall goodie goodie..you mean most other dad's don't do this with their kids? This is how we got him to count to 10, name colors, animals, and so forth.

Now his mouths runs constantly, and he acts as "Embasador of Good Will" in public - talking to anyone and everyone about whatever crosses his mind.

His "mouth running constantly" is not a bad thing. It's up to you as Daddy to teach your child when certain comments are appropriate, and when listening is appropriate. One day, trust me here, the child will finally figure it all out.
