Bless This Mess
I timed it.
Last night it took me just over two hours to pick up and put away every toy, game, puzzle, doll, crayon, pillow, blanket, cup, rock, and book strewn about on every floor in every room.
This morning it took the kids about fifteen minutes to make it look like I hadn't done a thing!

You are brave! I was always afraid to exactly figure out that kind of thing because I feared it would drive me crazy. We almost always have our kids clean up their own messes and toys, even though it takes even longer. Not that it's made any difference, we still have to nag them to clean up. So much for internalizing...
I love a clean house. Ours is not. My son is the Tasmanian Devil when it comes to pulling toys -- and everything else -- out of the toy box. Sigh.
My 2 year old follows me around, and simply MUST play with everthing that I just put away. Im startingn to wonder if everything in the house would simply cease to exist if I didnt touch it to clean. And I thought that the cats were bad (pre baby).

i make my precious children...#1son, son2, darling daughter and the dumpling, put up one for what they get out over three. Three things out at a time. When I say...puddin' there's more than three things out, they know mean mommy will not say it again, it simply disappears. Only to be seen again at the annual garage sale...when they cry alot. oh well. works for me.
