Song of the South
It sounds like Disney might be thinking about finally releasing Song of the South on DVD. It's the only animated Disney film never released on home video in the U.S., mostly because of its idyllic portrayal of slavery.
I have a fuzzy old VHS copy made from a European PAL video release of the film. My kids love it, especially the animated tales of Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox. The non-animated segments of life on the plantation are harmless in a historical context. Nobody's going to confuse it with the way things really were.

Please note - the film is set AFTER the war. There is no portrayal of slavery - note that Uncle Remus can just up and leave if he has a mind to. The costuming is obviously not antebellum.

This film deserves an audience. Disney will finally release it when their profit margin for a quarter dips to an unacceptable level on the chart.
I am searching for Porgy&Bess????
SCAM ALERT - Do not order copies of anything from BARCLAY HINSON! - he/she is ripping people off!
The sad voice of experience (but he/she'll get his/hers soon!)
Barclay Hinson is awesome! He would never do such a thing! Barclay Hinson is super sweet and cool. Everyone loves Barclay Hinson, he is a man of impeccable honor and unimpeachable integrity incapable of such deeds. You people should be ashamed! Barclay Hinson is like Ghandi and Martin Luther King all rolled into one! Barclay Hinson is the best ever!
