Volcano Watching

Keep up with Mt. St. Helens through this new blog, courtesy of the Spokane Spokesman-Review.

After the first eruption on Friday, I almost packed up the family and drove to the volcano on Saturday. Now, of course, I'm glad I didn't do that. Visitors and media are being evacuated from the Johnston Ridge Observatory in anticipation of a "major eruption."

I was fascinated also and wanted to go too!(my husband thinks that only people who have no life would go down and wait for a volcano to erupt.) I totally disagree because I think it would be very social, exciting time and I would love to get a photo. I'm wondering now how big this eruption will be; at first, they said, oh, NO big deal--now they've changed their tune.I really don't want a bunch of ash all over my car though like last time!
