Save The Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus!
The possibility of Pacific Northwest tree octopus extinction is not an unwarranted fear. We couldn't save the Idaho Democrat, but there's still hope for these defenseless cephalopods. Do what you can.

As a research fellow here at the cryptoecozoological center for the paranormally arcane, I applaud you bringing attention to this important topic. The PNWTO is unusually susceptible to the drastic changes being brought about by global warming and second hand smoke. Unlike its aquatic cousins, without the protection of the ocean to act a buffer for pollutants, it is exposed to all manner of air-borne toxins. There was a time when the high canopy would come alive with quiet "twick-twick-twick" call of the 'pus. Now the few mating pairs that exist are cloistered along a very narrow range, scheduled for clear-cutting next year. But you can help. With your money we plan to purchase 10,000 industrial ionic breeze machines and mount them high in the forest canopy to reclaim the pristine environment before any more daamge can be done. Because the ionic breeze machines are absolutely silent they will not frighten the shy creatures. Please help if you can.
The problem may also involve first-hand smoke. I saw a few with a carton of cigarettes in a tree near my home. Fortuntely they were not smoking at that point since none of them seemed to have a lighter. I did notice, however, that they were smoking somewhat later as I preparing calamari.
OMG i feel sorry for these tree octopus's and i am going to support them in every way i can and im gonna donate $1,000 just to show my love for them i couldn't live a day without them :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
